When the life savings company Standard Life came to Rankin with a brief I wouldn’t have ever imagined that I’d be part of such an emotional and soul-enriching project.
Instead of putting their money into putting up their logo onto sport t-shirts, Standard Life decided to partner up with a charity and shine a light on a real problem. Endometriosis.
Endometriosis is an invisible condition that affects 1 in 10 women. It causes extreme pain, it messes around with the monthly cycle and it makes it impossible to basically just be a woman. With a knock on effect on mental health and life savings.
So we interviewed 14 women from across the UK, to talk about their experience creating 14 unique films.
We took their portraits and created an exhibition in London and Edinburgh called the ‘Beyond the Invisible’, where looking at the portraits with a phone or an ipad, the portrait would transform into the films.
